surrender and withdraw into solitude
concerned by nothing more
nothing else
not with you
not with me
not any single other soul
But how when words keep waking me,
you keep stirring me
moving what is better left sullen and still-
the once ashen
now smoldering
rampant and renegade,
ravishing throughout
eroding sharpened reason,
forming fantasies
of you
with me
and not any single other soul
overwhelmed and subdued
leaden stone endures
though worn and weathered.

and again restrained
